Borrower-Lens Practice Guide

Train from the other side.

The borrower lens is a training exercise for credit officers. You stay signed in as the officer and walk the practice application stepper end to end, to see a case from the applicant's side. AI guidance, voice interaction, and explainable feedback on every stage. A simulation, never a real application.

Entering the Lens

4 steps in this section

1

Start From Your Officer Surface

You are already signed in as the officer. From the role-play area you choose the borrower lens and start a practice run. There is no separate borrower account and no real lending: this is a learning and simulation environment built into your officer surface.

2

Open a Practice Application

Each practice run creates a fresh practice application that exists only as training substrate. Your details are saved against the practice run so you can step away and resume, then start a new run whenever you want to rehearse a different case.

3

Choose Your Language

The borrower lens fully supports both Swahili and English across every screen, prompt, and AI interaction. Switch languages at any time with a single tap, and Mr. Mwikila guides you in whichever language you prefer.

4

Guided Walkthrough of the Stepper

A short tour highlights the stepper and the AI guidance beside it: where each stage lives, how the practice application takes shape, and where the explainable feedback appears. The walkthrough adapts to how far along you are.

AI Guidance Beside You

4 steps in this section

5

Ask Mr. Mwikila Anything, In English or Swahili

Mr. Mwikila, the AI Senior Banking & Finance Manager, sits beside you on every step. Ask how a stage of the appraisal works, what a lender looks for in a figure, or how a Tanzanian requirement applies, and get an expert-level, explainable answer on the spot.

6

Form Filling From Plain Language

Describe a practice case in natural language and watch the AI extract structured data into the practice fields. Say 'a hardware shop in Mwanza with 4 employees and TZS 15M monthly revenue' and the relevant fields populate, so you learn what a complete application looks like before you appraise one for real.

7

Voice Interaction With Natural Speech

Speak to the AI using natural voice. It listens in Swahili or English, processes your request, and responds aloud. Useful when you would rather talk through a step than type it.

8

Context-Aware Coaching on Every Stage

The AI understands exactly which stage of the stepper you are on. On the financials stage it explains what a lender weighs; on the documents stage it tells you what each one establishes. Every prompt is tailored to your current step, so you learn the real process by rehearsing it.

Walking the Stepper

9

Step-by-Step Guided Stepper

The practice application is broken into clear stages: personal details, business information, financial data, purpose, collateral, and documents. A progress bar shows where you are and what remains, and each step validates before you proceed, so you learn to catch errors early.

10

The AI Explains Every Field

Tap any field to see an explanation of what a lender expects, why the field matters, and what a strong answer looks like. For financial fields the AI shows how the numbers read against the case, turning every field into a lesson.

11

Save, Exit, and Resume Anytime

Your practice run is saved as you go. Close the browser, switch devices, or come back later, and you resume exactly where you left off. The practice draft persists until you finish the run or delete it.

12

Rehearse the Whole Flow, Nothing Real

Walk an entire application in a guided simulation that never reaches a real lender. The AI scores your practice run, highlights weak spots, and suggests improvements, so you can rehearse a case as many times as you like.

Section 04 of 06

Document Practice

4 steps in this section

13

The Documents a Tanzanian Case Turns On

The lens covers the documents a lending case rests on: BRELA business registration, TIN certificates, bank statements, financial statements, collateral title deeds, vehicle logbooks, insurance, board resolutions, and licences. You practice recognising what each one establishes.

14

AI Document Reading and Data Extraction

Attach an example photo or scan and the AI reads, classifies, and extracts the key data. A bank-statement image becomes structured revenue and expense data; a registration certificate becomes verified details. The extracted data flows into the relevant practice fields so you see the appraisal take shape.

15

Prepare the Documents a Run Needs

Missing an example document for your run? The AI lays out a clear plan to prepare it, so a practice case is never blocked by a gap. Every step is part of the exercise, not a real errand.

16

Format and Quality Checks

As you attach example documents the AI checks each one: is the image clear enough to read, is anything expired, do the names match. Issues are flagged with specific fixes, so you learn what a clean document set looks like before you appraise one.

Section 05 of 06

Explainable Feedback

4 steps in this section

17

A Score You Can Interrogate

When you finish a practice run the AI scores it and shows the reasoning behind every part, causal and step by step, in your language. Nothing is a black box: you can ask why a stage scored the way it did and dig into the answer.

18

Gap Analysis Across the Case

The feedback names the specific weak spots in the run, ranked by impact, from a thin financial picture to incomplete collateral documentation. Each gap comes with a clear explanation of why it matters to a lender.

19

What to Practice Next

Based on the gaps, the AI suggests where to focus next: a core lesson to revisit, a document set to rebuild, a section of the stepper to walk again. Suggestions are ordered so you improve fastest.

20

See the Case From Both Sides

Because you walked the stepper as the applicant, you carry that perspective back to your officer surface. The lens exists to make your real appraisals sharper, by letting you feel where an applicant gets stuck before you sit across from one.

Tied to Your Curriculum

4 steps in this section

21

Grounded in the Core Curriculum

The borrower lens is one part of your training, alongside the core lessons, the appraiser and committee role-play lenses, and your dynamic modules. The same competency frame runs through all of them, so a practice run reinforces what your lessons teach.

22

Mastery Tracking That Knows What You Understand

Your practice runs feed the same mastery tracking as the rest of your training. The system models your understanding of each competency in real time, so it knows not just what you walked through, but what you actually mastered.

23

Spaced Review So It Sticks

Competencies you have demonstrated are scheduled for review on a spaced cadence. Stronger areas resurface less often, weaker ones more, so what you learn in a practice run moves into long-term memory with minimal extra study.

24

Progression Through the Competency Levels

Practice runs grow with you: early on the AI explains more and takes on more of the case; as you advance it steps back and the case gets harder. Difficulty is set on the session and can adapt to your rolling mastery estimate.

Ready when you are

Start your practice.

Secure and paced by you. Walk the stepper from the applicant's side as a training exercise, and carry that perspective back to your real appraisals. Mr. Mwikila is beside you on every step.
